This report has been prepared as part of a project covering the
technical and legal aspects of the transportation of non nuclear
dangerous goods, substances and waste. Its purpose is to give an
overall picture of the legal aspects of the complexities of such
transportations. Transport by air is excluded and only a brief
survey of problems concerning insurance is included. The findings
of this research are based on the national reports provided by
Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg,
Netherlands and the United Kingdom and on contacts with the
international organisations concerned.
