Afro-Caribbean youth killed in Thamesmead
artdoc June=1991

A black schoolboy was fatally wounded in a knife attack by a
gang of white youths who attacked him and his brother as they
made their way home from a local youth centre.
Roland Adams, 15, was waiting with his 14 year-old brother
Nathan at a bus stop when they were approached by a group of
teens who taunted them with racial insults and then stabbed
Roland. Commenting on the murder, one of Roland's relatives
told newspapers, `Roland was killed because he was black. The
family is devastated.' (Daily Mail 23.2.91)
