UK: New judge at Court of Justice

A Scottish judge, David Edward, is to replace Sir Gordon Slynn as Britain's judge on the bench at the European Court of justice from March 10. Edward practised law in Scotland between 1962-1989 after which he became a judge at the EC Court of First Instance. He has also acted as a special adviser to the House of Lords select committee on EC legislation.
