Three new members appointed to the Police Complaints Authority

Mr William McCall, former General Secretary of the Institution
of Professional Civil Servants (now the IPMS), has been appointed
as a Member of the Police Complaints Authority by the Home
Secretary. Mr McCall was General Secretary of the IPCS from 1963
until his retirement in 1989. Before that he served as Assistant
Secretary for five years. Mr McCall is a member of the Court of
the University of London and the Council of Goldsmiths' College.
From 1977 to 1986 he was a part-time of the Eastern Electricity
Board and he was on the TUC General Council from 1984 until 1989.
Mr McCall will be responsible for supervising investigations into
complaints made against serving police officers.
Mrs Cawsey was until recently a senior manager with BP
International Limited. She was until recently Senior Account
Manager of BP International Limited's in-house software
organisation. She has skills in the field of marketing,
consultancy and business planning.
Mr Chapman was formerly Her Majesty's Ambassador to Iceland. Mr
Mark Chapman CVO was HM Ambassador to Iceland between 1986 and
1989. His career in the Diplomatic Service included appointments
at Bangkok, Lesotho, Vienna, Lusaka and The Hague.
