A former headmaster considers the dangers implicit in the hostile
attitude of some in authority, including school governors,
towards the police. Contrasts the schools of the past where there
was no overt hostility to the police, even among young offenders,
with the gradually developing hostility of the past 20 years and
attributes at least part of it to the actions of adults.
