Describes plans for a terminal at Folkestone, access,
compensation for properties affected by its construction and
environmental concerns. Looks at proposals for the disposal of
spoil dug from the tunnel workings at the foot of Shakespeare
Cliff and the environmental and scientific interests concerned
with the disposal. Examines the possible impact of the tunnel on
roads in Kent generally and in particular the need to extend the
A20. Considers petitions from ports and ferries concerning
compensation for loss of profit, frontier controls and subsidies.
Gives the reasons behind the choice of Waterloo as the London
terminal for the Channel Tunnel.
