Romania: Fascists launch anti-Semitic tirade
artdoc June=1993

The fascist Greater Romania party, led by Corneliu Vadim Tudor,
has written an open-letter to President Ion Iliescu attacking him
for having attended the opening ceremony of the Holocaust museum
in Washington, US, in the company of Bucharest's Chief Rabbi. The
open-letter describes the Holocaust Museum as Satan's home. That
part of the museum which recalls Romania's war-time victimisation
of the Jews is called a `disgusting falsification of historical
truth'.
Furthermore, according to the Greater Romania Party, Iliescu
only visited Washington at all because of `Zionist' pressure to
which he is increasingly succumbing, not least in his recent
attacks on the fascist war-time dictator, Mihail Antonescu and
by surrounding himself by a Jewish clique of policy advisers
(Magyar Hirlap 26.4.93).

Distribution of Mein Kampf forbidden

A High Court in Romania has forbidden the distribution of the
first complete translation of Mein Kampf, confiscating all 10,000
copies of the printed text. Translator, Olivia Tocacia, a lawyer,
described his translation as `a real cultural achievement',
denying that he was advertising fascism (Magyar Hirlap 28.4.93).
