Questions over prisoner's suicide
artdoc July=1991

The Coroner for Manchester West has urged the Home Secretary
for a review of the efficiency of prison medical staff after
an inquest jury at Wigan ruled that a teenage prisoner
hanged himself `in circumstances brought about by lack of
care.'
Anthony Hook, 18, was found hanged at Hindley remand
centre, Greater Manchester within minutes of the discovery
of another 18 year-old prisoner hanged in the adjoining
cell. (Times 19.1.91)
