Reports on reactions from Leon Brittan, Home Secretary, and
Gerald Kaufman, Labour Shadow Home Secretary, on the comments
made by Leslie Curtis, Police Federation Chairman, on Wednesday
regarding the relationship between the police and the Labour
Party. The Superintendents' Association Conference yesterday
issued a statement reaffirming their allegiance to any
democratically elected government.
