Continuation of an article by the Metropolitan Police
commissioner who looks at ways in which the police and
local government can reduce the fear of crime. These include
removing the physical signs of crime and dereliction,
promoting community participation in crime prevention,
communicating with the public in multi ethnic areas, and
improving the design of the physical environment to deter
crime.
