Leyton family considers legal action
artdoc April=1992

The conduct of two Leyton police officers who knocked over a
young white man with their patrol car has been described as
`satisfactory' by senior Metropolitan police officers. Neighbours
of 20-year-old Derek Newson say that the young man was quite
needlessly thrown onto the bonnet of a police car which had
accelerated at him, his head cracking the windscreen.
The man's mother had initially called the police to defuse a
family row, but she is now considering legal proceedings against
the officers. (Independent 8.8.90)
