Jewish Action Against Racism and Fascism has been launched to
fight increasing anti-Semitism. During September a Jewish
cemetery near Oldham was desecrated when forty-one headstones
at Failsworth Jewish Cemetery were sprayed with swastikas and
crosses - all part of a wave of attacks.
Meanwhile, three leaflets which the British Board of
Jewish Deputies say are contributing to the rise in
anti-Semitism, have been referred to the Crown Prosecution
Service. Each of the anonymously written leaflets carries the
home telephone number of Lady Jane Birdwood and states that it
is redistributed by `Choice', an anti-immigration organisation.
Lady Birdwood said she would welcome prosecution over the
