UK: Scottish Amnesty petition launched: Positive Action in Housing has launched a petition condemning "dawn raids" and the criminalisation of asylum seekers in Scotland. The campaign "is deeply concerned at the inhumanities emanating from Home Office asylum policy on Scottish soil. These raids are devastating whole comminutes left heartbroken by the sudden disappearances of their friends and neighbours and pupils. We seen no reason why Scottish asylum families should not be able to remain in Scotland when Scotland has an economic need for people to work and settle in this country." It add that "dawn raids", "anytime" raids or the weekly disappearance of innocent families have no place in a civilised society.
