Mr. Allen: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence,
further to his reply of 14 June, Official Report, columns
326-27, concerning regiments; if he will give the numbers of
people employed in or connected with each regiment listed.

Mr. Archie Hamilton: As at 30 April 1990, the total
trained strength of the Army was 136,869. The number of Army
personnel employed at each of the arms and services of the
Regular Army on that date is as follows:
