Black policeman's home raided in bogus drug bust
artdoc July=1991

Britain's highest ranked black police officer was recently the
victim of a police drugs raid on his home.
Chief Inspector Ron Hope was woken up by a group of drugs
inspectors kicking down the front door of his Streatham home
as they continued a series of morning drug raids on suspected
dealers in South London. The Territorial Support Group (TSG)
who conducted the raid has issued an apology to Mr Hope.
`I'm not able to comment in details of the case as there
is an internal enquiry and I would not wish to prejudice the
outcome of the procedure.' (Voice 4/12/90; Caribbean Times
