The Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights has handed down an important judgment of the right of journalists to protect their sources: Full-text of judgment: Case of Sanoma Uitgevers v The Netherlands (pdf): Here the Court reverses a previous ruling and said that the police cannot search premises or seize journalistic material unless they have obtained a judicial warrant.
