"The European Court of Human Rights has today delivered at a public hearing its Grand Chamber judgment1 in the case of Saadi v. Italy (application no. 37201/06). The Court held unanimously that if the decision to deport the applicant to Tunisia were to be enforced, there would be a violation of Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights (prohibition of torture and inhuman or degrading treatment)."
