The first trial resulting from the new anti-protest zone around Parliament under the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act will take place tomorrow (Wednesday 7 December, link). Maya Evans, 25 years-old, was arrested on 25 October 2005 under the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act (SOCPA) for taking part in an unauthorised bell-ringing and name-reading ceremony in Whitehall to mark the first anniversary of last year's Lancet survey on war-related deaths in Iraq.
