"Hungary's conservative government breached European Union law when it sacked the country's data protection officer in 2011, the EU's highest court ruled today (8 April). The European Court of Justice held that allowing the officers of supervisory authorities to serve a full term in office is an integral part of ensuring the independence of those bodies."
