The Schengen acquis
The Schengen 'acquis' is derived from the 1990 Schengen Convention to implement
the 1985 Schengen agreement. It was divided between the Treaty establishing the European Communities and the Treaty on European Union
under the Schengen protocol to the Amsterdam Treaty.
